In her role as head of human capital for LPL Financial, Denise Abood is focused on the firm's long-term commitment to employees, exploring creative and enhanced ways of investing in employees, and promoting employee engagement, while concurrently providing company-wide strategic support. Ms. Abood is responsible for seven functions critical to the firm's growth: organizational development and training, human resources, employee recruiting, compensation and benefits, real estate and facilities, payroll, and mail services.

Ms. Abood became the head of human capital for all of LPL Financial in 2007. Ms. Abood was formerly chief financial officer for UVEST Financial Services, where she had overall responsibility for finance, accounting, technology, compliance, legal, and human resources functions. She also led the UVEST Mortgage Company. Prior to joining UVEST, she held two roles at Wachovia Bank, initially as the chief financial officer for capital markets services and then as head of the technology business office.

Prior to that time, Ms. Abood was the chief operating officer for PwC Financial Solutions, an organization providing financial services to the insurance industry. Earlier roles included chief financial officer for the TIG Insurance Company commercial division, treasurer for TIG, and senior investment manager for The Progressive Corporation.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and received CPA certification from the state of Ohio.  She is also Series 27 registered.
