LPL Employees Join Together in Service for May Serve Days

Nearly 300 LPL Financial employees recently volunteered as part of LPL’s 6th annual May Serve Days, a month-long demonstration of volunteerism in communities surrounding the firm’s three office locations, including Boston, the Carolinas, and San Diego.

Nearly 50 volunteer projects were completed to support various organizations, including those aligned to the LPL Foundation’s mission to foster economic empowerment as well as those chosen by employees for the value that work had for them personally.

The LPL Foundation organized support for the Dress for Success Stiletto Swagger and Power Walk, a fashion show and 5k that helped raise funds to provide professional clothing and career development tools for women reentering the workforce. Steve Lank, LPL Executive Vice President, Service, Trading and Operations, supported by LPL volunteers, strutted in high heels alongside other executives for the cause.

“This was the 2nd year I’ve personally taken part in this Dress for Success event,” Lank said, which also included a weeklong clothing drive in each of LPL’s home office locations. “Every year I look forward to Stiletto Swagger for the chance to be able to get to know other employees better as we come together to support a great cause. It’s wonderful to be a part of a firm that demonstrates its values through volunteerism. Encouraging employees to be engaged in this way helps us to connect with each other and our communities and delivers value all around.”

In support of the LPL Foundation’s mission to foster economic empowerment for underserved individuals and families – other organizations supported during this year’s May Serve Days included Boys and Girls Club, City Year, Johnson C. Smith University, and Junior Achievement.

In addition to May Serve Days, LPL promotes volunteerism year-round. The LPL Financial Foundation is the charitable arm of LPL Financial and is committed to providing volunteer and financial support to enhance access to education, career, and financial literacy resources, fostering economic empowerment for underserved individuals and families in the communities where we work. LPL offers employees up to 16 hours of paid Volunteer Time Off each year. In 2016, LPL Financial employees, including senior leaders, donated more than 4,000 volunteer hours.
